  • 1 egg, at room temperature
  • 1 tbsp water



In your largest coffee mug, add the protein powder, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix with a fork.


Add the egg, melted butter, vanilla, and milk to the dry mix. Mix until just combined but do not overmix, as it will alter the texture of the cake. Scrape the edges of the mug to make sure the batter is well incorporated.


Place the chocolate at the top of the batter. Do not push it in, it will fall as the cake cooks in the microwave. Top that with 1 tbsp of water.


Microwave for 1-2 minutes, until the cake is springy and cooked all the way through. The top will still be slightly wet, but the cake is cooked through.
