The air fryer is one of those appliances you’re never sure if you need or not. It’s not that they’re massively expensive or anything, but you’ve done all right with your regular pots and pans so far, so do you need an air frier?
The answer is yes but bear with me in this one. Air fryers are convenient for many reasons. First, they’re fast. Second, they’re practically mess-free, so no more washing greasy skillets. Third, because you can cook your favorite fried food with very little oil, and that’s good for your health.
Once you get your air frier, the next step is using it! As frequently as you can, so don’t leave it in its box, and start frying with this magical appliance.
Today I’m showing you how you can cook even the most straightforward fried foods with the air fryer and that they end up tastier than regular ones. We’re frying some good old waffle fries because who doesn’t love these crispy treats?

Then we have the seasonings, just salt and pepper. Here’s what’s so cool about the air fryer. You’ll only need to mist your air fryer basket and potatoes with spraying oil a few times, meaning you’ll use a tablespoon of cooking oil tops.
Here are some ideas to take your waffle fries to the next level. Once you’ve removed your fries from the air fryer, toss them with the salt and pepper, yes, but also add a pinch of paprika, garlic powder, lemon pepper seasoning or Italian herbs.
Make the waffle fries yours and be inventive! The simplest dishes are all about creativity. Here’s what I do, I drizzle them with a little fancy truffle oil, and they end up delicious — restaurant quality right here.

Set the air fryer to 360ºF and cook for 10-15 minutes.
Remove the fries and throw them in a large mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper and toss. Be careful; they’re hot!
